This session gives us an additional opportunity to get to know each other more and deeper. This casual format will include breakout rooms to discuss ‘What’s Up’ for one another. We will also have an opportunity to explore what we have gotten so far from fall conference and how we are doing with the intention we set at the beginning.

Ethics Considerations for the Imagined Community

with Rev. Joy Wyler

We will examine specific elements of the UWM Code of Ethics, Section III, D and E, which intersect with state laws and explore decision-making in the context of both ethics and legal constraints. This workshop does not offer legal opinion nor substitute for the advice of attorneys on specific matters.

There will be lecture, resource handouts/links and interactive small group discussion.

Learning objectives:

• Participant will be able to identify relevant state law related to the Code of Ethics duties.
• Participant will be able to articulate personal bias in reporting duties and conflicting ethical responsibilities.
• Participant will be able to give examples of both compliance and noncompliance with each ethical duty.

 

 

Rev. Joy Wyler, J.D.

Rev. Joy Wyler (pronouns she/her) recently retired after serving as the minister of Unity of Lehigh Valley for eleven years. She currently serves on the board of Unity World Headquarters and previously served as president of our Eastern Region Board. With a Juris Doctorate from UMKC Law, Rev. Movement is a healing practice inviting us to meet our bodies right where we are, right now. Soul Fitness is a session teaching the tools for self-love through movement, creating a spiritual practice for embracing our bodies and transforming our minds. By using spiritual tools, health and fitness becomes a sacred experience. Join Rev Skip Jennings and Faith Rivera for a session filled with mindfulness, music and movement. Wear comfortable clothing and come willing to elevate your life. Everyone is welcome to play in the spirit.

Rev.
