Upgrade Your Immunity to Change
LUT and LUT Candidates Training / Connections
Presented by Rev. Kelly Isola and Amy Joslin, LUT, Eastern Region LUT Representative
As we imagine what our spiritual communities will look, feel and act like – whether that’s a few months from now or in the years ahead – we know we will be creating a new model, a new paradigm, that doesn’t currently exist. This, of course, will require us to move through change. Have you ever encountered something about your own behavior or communication that you want to change, but have a hard time changing it?
If you’re like most people, you’ve made sincere commitments to change. You’ve participated in training or educational classes, invested in books, outlined self-improvement plans, and set accountability measures, done your denials and affirmations, journaled, and, and and… Maybe you can get things to shift for a little while, but eventually you return to a habitual way of relating, working and thinking. What’s going on here? Is it a lack of willpower? Are you dealing with a fundamental flaw that can’t be changed?
In our time together you will discover a learning process informed that will transform you, discover your unconscious Big Assumption that drives your immunity to change. Instead of writing off any particular habit as “bad,” or blaming or sharing ourselves, learn what good purpose the habit might actually be serving. In this learning process you will improve your ability to receive critical feedback, create a healthier work-life balance, have more courageous conversations, be more collaborative and evolutionary, develop healthier eating or exercise habits, but most of all, uncover your Big Assumption that has been serving you, yet keeping you from abiding in the change you desire.

Presented by Revs. Ogun Holder and Kelly Isola
Phygital Ministry – A Whole Person Endeavor
- Developing an effective ministry model which builds on your physical ministry by helping it grow and multiply digitally
- Blend of physical and digital ministry – phygital – not as a replacement of community, but a birth of a new kind of community engaging the head, hands and heart in order to evolve and thrive

- Reimagining traditions, practices, celebrations, giving, healing and more
PART 1: Mindful Alignment – Embrace the Business
In this two hours we will cover the “head” elements of ministry, which is largely the business side of church/spiritual community. We will take a look at the trends that have been emerging for decades, as well as the rapid and unexpected shifts of the last 18 months, as well as what works and what doesn’t as we reconstruct ministry. Topics include
- Governance (roles and accountabilities), what changed, what’s working, what’s not
- Shifts needed in resource allocation
- Mission-based cash flow plan (as opposed to budget)
- Marketing plans, efficient and effective social media (including tools)
- Technology use (how, when and what)
- Innovative leadership shifts
